Coaltown Coffee - Pit Prop No1
Pit Prop No1 is an espresso blend that was awarded with one star in the UK Great Taste Awards in 2015. A blend of Nicaraguan, Guatemalan and Sumatran Arabica coffee, Pit Prop explores deep flavours of dark chocolate with a hint of tangy orange. It was developed for people who like coffee with a bit more of a kick, and makes a wonderful, sumptuous espresso.
Nicaragua, Finca La Cascada: Pacmara and Caturra, Wet-Processed and Patio Dried
Guatemala, El Fogon: Caturra, Bourbon, Catuai and Geisha, Fully-Washed
Sumatra, Jagong Village: Bourbon and P88, Semi-Washed
Recommended Brew Method: Espresso, French Press
For a perfect double espresso, use a 1:2 ratio of coffee to water (18g Pit Prop and 36g water) and extract between 20 and 30 seconds.
